Whenever his bowl was empty, the fish cried. The villagers picked kalo, pounded and cooked it into poi and fed their hungry visitor late into the night. The next morning, the villagers crowded around the fish who had grown over ten houses long.
They returned to Kapa'a where they saw the giant stomping his feet and throwing down breadfruit. "No 'ulu! I hate 'ulu! Give me poi!"

Questions:
1) When Edna's bowl is empty, does she cry or throw a tantrum?
2) Does Edna prefer 'ulu or poi?
3) Without using any search engines, invent a tasty kalo recipe for Edna to feed hungry visitors.

OK, well I'm making it all up, but...
1. Tanty, because it's much more fun.
2. Neither; she'd rather have a nice bar of chocolate.
3. Kalo? What's kalo? Hey, let's deep fry it and then dip it in mayo (whatever it is).
Is my ass safe now?
Well this shouldn't be too hard;)
1) Crying is too passive for Edna. She will throw a giant sized tantrum that will shake the islands. It also burns more calories.
2) Edna hates 'ulu, but it is rumored that she's a closet poi eater.
3)Kalo Pie --the crust can be purchased at your local grocery store. The filling is made with kalo, cinnamon, butter, eggs, and pure cane sugar from Hawaii.
1) It is impossible to know because Edna's bowl shall never run dry.
2) 'ulu! by far because she's no giant unless your measure takes talent into account.
3) Hollow Marshmallow Kalo
In a mixing bowl, combine kalo flour, 1 egg and 1 Tbsp of water. Form into a dough and roll out.
Place a large marshmallow in the center and form the dough around it.
Bake at 350 for 25 minutes
1.) Definitely tantrum.
2.) Ulu of course!
3.) See below.

Softening lotion

3 Papayas

Pummel Mangos and Papayas in a small bowl using moderate force (make sure to not break the bowl.) Add Aloe Juice. Cool in refriderator.
Apply generously over entire face using clockwise circular motions. When dry and crackley over skin (about 15 minutes), wash off with damp cloth for a refreshing and cleansing face. Apply softening lotion by using counter clockwise circular motions. Wait 6 minutes. Wash off with damp cloth.
Enjoy!
BTW, the above answers and recipes are search engine free and come with a 30 day guarantee.
1) When Edna's bowl is empty, does she cry or throw a tantrum?
Without a tantrum, she fills it up to herself, by herself.
But if I had to choose between crying and tanrtum, it would be tantrum.
2) Does Edna prefer 'ulu or poi?
'ulu.
3) Without using any search engines, invent a tasty kalo recipe for Edna to feed hungry visitors.
Chop kalo. Sauté in oil, with some green veggies. Season with spices like rosemary and cinnamon. Or with chili and pineapple.
Garnish with oatmeal.
*spoiler alert*
OMG, I have just finished google searching kalo. There are actual recipes to it. Oh, my. It is an actual----shh.
So well done Chris, for having told us to refrain from search engines.
One might always learn a new thing by the day.
Edna doesn't cry, she throws a tantrum, a spectacular, inventive tantrum that leaves the others in the house in complete awe of her.
It's such a cliche to say a woman is even more beautiful when she's mad, but the others in the house all secretly think this about Edna.
Poi
Kalo -- I've found that just about everything tastes better with a little salt and pepper. That's how ECM will prepare it for her guests.
OMG, These are hysterical!! Thanks for playing, everybody!
Szelsofa, I haven't searched any of the ingredients either. I want to wait to see all the recipes. I wish I could play :-(
Oh well.... maybe after this one, I'll throw a tantrum and go have some kalo ;-)
Have fun!!!!
Cheers,
Tantrums because they're more effective in public in getting her own way
Definitely ulu, because last time someone said, "Want some poi, son?" she got extremely ill after eating what was offered.
Her kalo usually just floats above her head like the angel she is, but occasionally she does boil it and drink the resulting tea for good fortune and prosperity.
OK, I couldn't resist; I had to Google it too. (we're allowed to after we answer, right? )
Church Lady, when you search "kalo recipe" your blog is No. 5 of 297,000.
Impressive!
1. When Edna's bowl is empty, she just asks politely, "Please, Sir, may I have some more?"
2. Ulu', because it's more fun to say.
3. Unwrap a dark Dove chocolate (with cocoa flavolnols) and place on a plate. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat.
In reading the directions again, I realize I did not feed the hungry visitors. However, I hope they are now beautiful & fully cleansed for their kalo feast.
LOL, writerkat! I was wondering what other beauty products get served for dinner :-)
Well, time's up! Thank you everybody for playing, and so much to Edna for agreeing to do this silly blog adventure!!!
I still don't know what kalo is, but I'm going to look it up, and Church Lady will talk about it tomorrow.
Whenever you're ready to announce the winner, Edna.....
:-)
This was so cool! I'm sorry I missed the contest.
Ello, glad you could stop by and leave a message!! :-)
Hey Everyone, it's me, Edna. So sorry, I missed the fun. I was at dance rehearsals ALL day and then had to be away from home and computer through most the evening.
So, now the moment of truth has arrived (drum roll)... and the winner is...BILL! Wooohoo--congrats and thanks for your great answers, Bill.
I'm much too active to sit and cry like a dainty little thing. Tantrums that shake, rattle and roll the Islands--yep, that's me. Gonna burn those calories.
Yes, to hating 'ulu (breadfruit)--so true! I'm definitely a poi eater who will consume it in broad daylight, thank you. Did you know that poi is excellent with lomi lomi salmon? Yum!
Yes, to your pie recipe! How did you know I'm a pie fanatic? A pie made of kalo (a.k.a. poi) would simply be heavenly. And Church Lady would like that, wouldn't she?
Thanks to all who played. I'm thrilled, in a BIG way, to read all your snappy, inventive answers. Also, much thanks to Church Lady! :-)
